Warm up this winter with a cozy new pet

It’s that time of year again. The most wonderful time of the year has passed and the arrival of spring is still far on the horizon. On the plus side, the Eagles are in the playoffs and the Sixers have been on a tear lately. But if you’re looking for a more permanent solution to banish the winter doldrums, why not add a ray of sunshine to your life? You don’t have to shell out thousands for a second home in the Caribbean – in fact, you don’t even have to leave Burlington County.

Pets of the Week: Ty and Beefy

While Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang know that happiness is a warm puppy, Ty thinks this quote should be expanded to include warm kittens. Sweet, friendly and affectionate, Ty is the perfect knee warmer that won’t skyrocket your electricity bill. This beautiful seven-year-old tabby loves to snuggle and starts purring as soon as you start petting him. Ty is a very caring guy who will headbutt you and rub his head on your hand to cheer you up.

"I am a serious guy. Serious about hugs, that is!" -ty

Ty tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), but he doesn’t mind and he hopes you feel the same way. Healthy cats with FIV generally live long and happy lives. FIV can be passed to other cats (but not to humans or dogs) through deep bites, but not through casual contact, such as sharing a food or water bowl, playing, or grooming . This means that many cats with FIV are able to live in harmony with other cats! If you want to see more of Ty – and who wouldn’t? – check out his Youtube video (Search FriendsofBCAS on YouTube).

Ty is ready to get on the couch and catch all the Sixers action heading into the playoffs. And how cute would he look in a little Joel Embiid jersey?

Submit an adoption application through the Burlington County Animal Shelter‘s Petango page (petango.com, enter the shelter’s zip code 08060, then go to the shelter’s page and click on Ty’s photo), then call the refuge at 609-265-5073 (ext. 4) to arrange a meeting.

Happy and bright: Sriracha, Max will add love and light to your holiday

New year, new love ::Help Chester and Mama Moo keep their resolutions

Fantastic ! Gracie and Tank would love to be your family mascots

While Beefy is normally a football fan, he was super excited to learn that the Sixers had just signed Charlie Brown Jr.! Now he hopes to find the Charlie Brown of his Snoopy.

Beefy might be a bit bigger than Snoopy, but he’s got the heart to match, too. A carefree pup, Beefy’s tail is always on the move when around the people he loves. And that’s pretty much everyone! Beefy loves the attention he gets from his volunteer friends and even likes to pose for pictures. Although quite photogenic, Beefy prefers being an athlete to being a model. This active man loves to play outside and take long walks, and will also make a great jogging and hiking partner.

Beefy is interested in anything and everything his humans do and likes to learn new things. Whether it’s taking a day trip to the beach or exploring a new hiking trail, Beefy will be an enthusiastic companion.

Beefy is also a huge football fan and hopes to be adopted before the Super Bowl so he can help you plan your party.

Submit an adoption application through the Burlington County Animal Shelter Petango (petango.com, enter the shelter’s zip code 08060, then go to the shelter’s page and click on Beefy’s photo), then call the shelter at 609-265-5073 (ext 4) to arrange a meeting.
