The State Fair of Texas welcomes fairgoers to Midway to experience all the fun we’re used to.
After a year of hiatus due to the pandemic, the fair is back in all its lone star glory! But that doesn’t mean you have to break the bank to enjoy the fun!
NBC 5 has put together all the best deals and flights to make the most of your visit.

Each Monday while the fair is running, a special promo code will be issued that will provide fair insiders with special access to $ 10 tickets to the fair on opening day, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Every day of the fair has a special offer! Let’s break it down:
- Standard weekday adult tickets cost $ 15, but on weekends they cost $ 18
- Tickets for seniors and children on weekdays cost $ 10. but if you go there on the weekend it goes up to $ 11.
Here’s how to get the best deals in town:
Drop by your local Kroger and get $ 3 off premium day tickets or $ 5 off a season pass.
McDonald’s offers coupons in all North Texas locations on tray liners and inside their lunch bags. With this special coupon, any visitor can save $ 5 on weekdays and $ 7 on weekends!
Whether you are in the military or a first responder, every day is a discount! Remember to bring a valid ID, badge or military ID where you will earn $ 5 off weekdays (Monday to Friday) and $ 7 off weekends (Saturday at Sunday).
If you like to see the fairground at night with all those twinkling lights, there is a deal! Everyone only pays $ 10 after 5 p.m., offer online or at the door!

Let’s talk about specific days to score big.
For opening day, if you bring 2 jars of peanut butter to donate to the North Texas Food Bank, you’ll only pay $ 10 at the door.
Dr Pepper Value Days:
The Dr. Pepper Value Days are held every Tuesday and Thursday, but you have to be a Big Tex Insider to get a $ 10 ticket.
If you are looking for a thrill ride and love rides, Thrilling Tuesdays are where many rides get a 50% discount.
Wednesdays: North Texas Food Bank, Feed the Need
Wednesdays are only $ 5 if you bring 5 cans. This is the cheapest ticket option and goes to a good cause. In 2019, over 325,000 pounds of food was donated through this program, making it the biggest food bank canning drive of the year!
Every Thursday is Seniors Day. People 60 and over get half price admission for just $ 5!

If you have leftover tickets from past fairs, did you know that tickets never expire !!
So, if you have any left over, save them for next year!
Food and drink tips:
If you’re really trying to spend your money, the fair allows you to bring a cooler so you can bring your own snacks and drinks. Remember to leave your glass containers and alcohol at home. And if you’re thirsty, there are also several places in the fair that sell water for a dollar.
On the Midway of the Funway there is a special stand called 6 beer tickets and the Beer Garden located in Cotton Plaza will have the best prices for adult drinks.
