The Live Wellness Walk will take place at the Turtle Back Zoo in Essex County.
You can start the virtual format anytime from anywhere from October 1st to October 24th and just submit your 5k.
“This is an opportunity for people to come forward for an incredible cause as we honor the selfless and heroic efforts of the health heroes at RWJ-Barnabas Health who have gone above and beyond their duties throughout this pandemic. “Justin Edelman, RWJ- Barnabas Health, Senior Vice President, Corporate Partnerships, told Townsquare Media News. “All of the money raised for this event is used to help and support our health heroes.”
This is an annual event, but between last year and this year, as we battle the pandemic, there is an added level of gratitude for those on the front lines.
“It means a little bit more, they’ve sacrificed so much and really did an amazing job,” said Edelman. “We will recognize them throughout the day and even throughout the month. Anyone who is there will be able to participate and thank them.”
If you can’t do it in person or if you’re too far away, you can participate in person by downloading the RunGo app and you can just submit your results while being greeted with audio messages along the way with words of interest. encouragement from New Jersey Player / Alumni Devils as well as Health Heroes.
“You will really feel like you are a part of it,” said Edelman.
Registration for 5K, virtually and in person, is open until 10/21 midnight at rwjbh.org/runningwiththedevils.
“Everyone who attends and registers, whether live or virtual, gets free entry to the Turtle Back Zoo that day,” said Edelman. “If you run the virtual event, you have the rest of the year to use that zoo pass, so you can go there another time.”
