Pet of the Week: Walden has wonderful manners. Barrington and Gary Gray are pals

JACKSON, MI — The Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3770 Spring Arbor Road, has many pets available for adoption.

Here are three.

Walden is a one-year-old American Staffordshire mix. Walden is calm, clean and good with his canine neighbors. He walks well on a leash and wants to stay with his human. He is a bit shy and does not show up well in the kennel. Once he sees a leash and walks out, he’s a tail wag. Walden has wonderful manners for a young dog without jumping or barking

If you love gray cats, here’s a double dose of handsome, big, short-haired males. Barrington is 3 years old and his buddy Gary Gray is 2 years old. They are friendly, love to be petted and will turn around everywhere. Gary Gray is polydactylous and has large mitten feet with extra toes. These two are great friends and love spending time together. Initially, they may be somewhat aloof in the cage, but they warm up to attract attention and affection.

An encounter with a dog is mandatory. A guided chat room tour is available to test the reaction. The dog adoption fee is $150 for medium and large dogs and $250 for puppies and small dogs, which includes vaccinations, microchipping and neutering.

Cat adoption fees are $60 for one cat, $80 for two, which includes applicable tests, vaccines, and neutering.
