Pet of the Week: Sundance loves to go for walks. Felicia is calm and quiet

JACKSON, MI — The Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3770 Spring Arbor Road, has many pets available for adoption.

Here are two.

Sundance is a happy black and white mix from American Staffordshire who came as a stray. He is 3 years old and gets along well with most of his canine neighbors.

Sundance knows a few basic commands and is very food driven. Besides the fact that he gets up from time to time to cuddle, he is such a good boy. If you’re looking for a puppy that loves to play and walk around, this is your guy.

Felicia loves hanging out in her cat house and napping with friends. He is a quiet and composed 3 year old tiger cat with white markings.

Felicia is kind and gets along well with other cats. She is polydactyl, which means she has 6 toes. Polydactyl cats were believed to bring good luck to sailors.

An encounter with a dog is mandatory. A guided chat room tour is available to test the reaction. The dog adoption fee is $150 for medium and large dogs and $250 for puppies and small dogs, which includes vaccinations, microchipping and neutering.

Cat adoption fees are $60 for one cat, $80 for two, which includes applicable tests, vaccines, and neutering.

It’s always best to visit the shelter, but other adoption resources include online applications at https://www.jacksoncountyanimalshelter.org/by faxing 517-780-4750 or emailing [email protected]

The shelter’s current hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
