News13 Weekend Animal: Bingo

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – News13 pet for the weekend of December 25-26 is Bingo, a 2-month-old short-haired domestic kitten available for adoption through the Grand Strand Humanitarian Society.

Bingo is considered a ‘therapy’ kitten due to a special bond with Lucky, another cat who came to the shelter after being injured in a car accident, shelter spokesperson Kathy Robinson said. . As a result, Bingo and Lucky must be adopted together, she said.

Lucky has been at the shelter for about six months, and the shelter said he was unable to move his hind legs when he arrived. He needs special care and attention, but “just thrives when he’s with Bingo,” Robinson said.

“We’re looking for a hero, someone who’s willing to take that tiny little furball plus their bonding mate,” said Robinson.

Meanwhile, Robinson said the shelter currently has nearly 60 dogs available for adoption.

“We are hoping to get dog adoptions this week because the adoption has been rather slow,” she said. “So hopefully now that the holidays are drawing to a close, it will resume.”

For anyone looking for a pet, the shelter’s cats are cared for in its temporary location off Highway 501 at the Tanger Outlets across from Carolina Pottery in Conway. The dogs are located in the former shelter facility at 3241 M. Joe White Avenue.
