NC Wildlife Resources Commission Offers Reduced Fees For Certain Permits | New
CITY OF PLUS-HEAD – Older outdoor enthusiasts in Carteret County and beyond have the option of acquiring a Lifetime Athlete or Unified Athlete License at a reduced price.
NC Wildlife Resources Commission officials announced that recent legislation now allows North Carolina residents between the ages of 50 and 69 to purchase a Lifetime Athlete’s License and Unified Lifetime Athlete’s License for $ 265 and $ 358. , respectively. These new prices are half of what the same resident lifetime licenses cost before the change.
WRC Executive Director Cameron Ingram said the commission “is constantly identifying ways for North Carolinians to take advantage of our state’s wonderful fishing and hunting opportunities.”
“After careful consideration, we determined that offering a segment of our lifetime licenses at a more affordable price was an option we could pursue,” said Mr. Ingram. “We are grateful to be able to offer the new rates and hope that eligible resident fishermen and hunters will support wildlife conservation by taking advantage of the new pricing.”
A lifetime athlete’s license allows hunting and indoor fishing statewide. It includes privileges for big game hunting, game land hunting, waterfowl hunting, public mountain trout fishing, game land trout fishing and fishing in common waters. It does not include electronic bear management stamp, non-resident bear license, federal duck stamp or coastal waters fishing.
A Unified Lifetime Sport License allows the same operations as above, but also includes fishing in coastal waters.
Eligible individuals can purchase these licenses online at the ncwildlife.org website, from a local Wildlife Service agent, or by calling 888-248-6834.
