Meet the CNYSPCA Pet of the Week: Finnigan

Submitted by Donna Newman for the Central New York SPCA

If you search for “hound” online, don’t be surprised if you find a picture of Finnigan.

Fast, agile, curious, independent, vocal, intelligent, tough and athletic – there is so much to be said about this hopeful dog.

Finnigan came to the shelter as a stray, which is not surprising; he is an escape artist and can climb fences. As a hunting dog, he was also bred to follow a scent no matter where she takes him.

Finnigan weighs 31 pounds, the perfect size. He is selective towards other dogs. He is also very intelligent and needs regular exercise, mental stimulation, and the ability to sniffle.

Finnigan would make a good family dog; he takes the treats gently and is very patient in handling. We think he would do well with kind kids of all ages.

Help Finnigan start over by giving him the loving home he’s been looking for!
