LC4 hosts a special adoption in support of Toys for Tots

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Lucas County Canine Care and Control is hosting a special adoption to help support Toys for Tots from Nov. 20 through Nov. 30.

The special adoption offer will waive fees for adopting dogs and puppies from Canine Care and Control with a donation of a new, unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots program.

Adoption fee is $15 without the toy donation, includes spaying or neutering your new dog, initial vaccinations, registered microchipping, heartworm screening and prevention, and parasite treatment if needed .

Adopting any dog ​​requires the purchase of a $25 Lucas County 2023 Dog License.

Over 75 adoptable dogs and puppies are housed at LC4, with several dogs entering each day.

If you have another dog, feel free to bring your resident dog for a meet. Families should bring their children to the shelter to meet the animals before adopting them.

All dogs looking for homes can be viewed online at or on the LC4 Facebook page.

LC4 is always looking for donations of towels, blankets, treats, canned goods and toys. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer is encouraged to visit the LC$ and complete an application. Monetary donations can be made to the Cutie’s Fund to help defray the costs of medical needs for dogs that have entered the center.
