Dog found stuck in box, abandoned in portable toilet at Brookline construction site

MSPCA-Angell investigators are trying to locate the person who left a dog stuck in a box in a portable toilet in Brookline. A 22-pound female Corgi-mix, estimated to be around 5 years old, was found at 10 p.m. on Thursday, recorded in a box in a portable toilet at a construction site on Colchester Street. The dog was able to free its head and two front legs from the box. Staff at Angell Animal Medical Center assessed her and said she was unharmed and stable, but frightened. The dog is resting at the MSPCA Jamaica Plain Adoption Center, where she will be held for a mandatory seven-day detention period before making her available for adoption. The box the dog was trapped in was for an O-Cedar EasyWring Mop and Bucket. The female dog was not wearing a collar or identification tag and did not have a microchip, making it all the more difficult to find an owner, the MSPCA said. Brookline Police are investigating and asking anyone with information to call 617-730-2730 or MSPCA law enforcement at 800-522-6008.
